Affiliated groups can access a wide range of additional information and service through the “MEMBERS” area of the website which requires them to log in as user using their unique access details .
Affiliation to LAYC means that you have access to a whole range of services on offer from LAYC. As a member you will receive:
- A Welcome Affiliation Pack containing information on a range of benefits of affiliation to one of the largest youth and children’s network.
- Access to the Youth Scotland insurance scheme ( if required) – a comprehensive and tailored insurance package including public liability, employers liability, contents - costs less than others available- and a range of other services from our equivalent national organisation.
- NEW *** Opportunity to register to enable LAYC to undertake disclosure checks for your group under the new Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) legislation coming into effect February 2011.
- Access to advice and guidance on child protection and safety regulations.
- NEW *** Employers HR Support Service for all LAYC affiliated groups – secure website access to a full range of professionally drafted and regularly updated employee policies and employment contracts produced by Law at Work . Also employers seminars and training, free subscription to employment related email bulletins and a free telephone consultation with an experienced employment advisor.
- Access to a comprehensive range of training courses and events that are affordable, accessible and relevant at reduced fees for member groups. Priorities given to member groups for training places.
- Free access to E Bulletins for member groups to post job adverts and other events – provides weekly information on jobs, training and events to over 1250 subscribers.
- Networks journal issued once a term and E Networks featuring information on youth and children’s work .
- Access to an extensive library and resource bank – with lending service, quiet study space, computer and internet access (free wi- fi available ). Printing and photocopying by arrangement.
- Access to LAYC “ Members Only” section of website with password protected access to a wide range of useful resources, policies, programme ideas, toolkits etc
- Access to LAYC Leisure Links scheme. Leisure Links has operated successfully since April 2002 . Leisure Links provides registered groups with 4 Leisure Cards which adult leaders can use for their own activities at reduced cost as well as to get discounted access for their youth and children’s group. (Edinburgh groups only)
- Access to The Joyce Dunford Bequest and grants of up to £150.

Affiliation & Insurance 2010-11 (membership of LAYC, Youth Scotland and UK Youth)
- Includes all the benefits of Affiliation Only PLUS
- Insurance package via Youth Scotland:
- Limited contents insurance
- An option in increase public liability cover to £5 million
- Extended insurance cover for 12 single overnight trips
Please note that if a group does not re-affiliate by 30th November they will no longer be covered by the Youth Scotland insurance package.
