Training Scheme

The LAYC Training Scheme has been setup to:

  • Recognise the commitment of many youth and childrens workers to training
  • Encourage the use of skills and knowledge from our courses
  • Keep records of participants achievements and completed courses
  • Give participants something they can use to prove their involvement in training

As you complete courses you will move through the following levels:

  • Bronze – you will have completed 2 courses from any of the sections
  • Silver – you will have completed 4 courses with at least one of the courses from two different sections
  • Gold – you will have completed 6 courses with at least one of the courses from each of the three sections
  • Platinum – you will have completed 8 courses with at least two courses at a more advanced level

Here’s the summary of how the LAYC Training Scheme works…

  1. You book onto a course either online or over the phone
  2. We’ll send you an email to confirm your place on the course
  3. You attend the course – make sure you sign in & check we have your correct email address
  4. We send you an invoice for attending the course (or if you have failed to attend without giving LAYC prior warning)
  5. You complete the online follow up activities for your course
  6. We check what you send in and (assuming it’s okay and your invoice has been paid) send you your course certificate
  7. If you’ve completed enough courses for either the Bronze, Silver or Gold level we’ll send you that certificate as well
