Thanks to all who came along to our recent AGM in the stunningly refurbished Old School Café at Canongate Youth.
It was standing room only as we did all the necessary AGM things ably chaired by President Alan Blackie including the approval of the Annual Report and Accounts for 2014-15 which can be viewed or downloaded by using the link provided. We then watched a very moving dvd produced by Dot Horne and her team at 6VT where adults who had been users of the café talked about how that experience had literally changed their lives. It reinforced the power of 6VT’s work over the past 21 years and #youthworkworks
The evening also gave us the chance to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the youth workers who gained the PDA in Youth Work with Sonia (Sikh Sanjog), Tamsin, Naomi and Kitsty (all Citadel) and Craig (Penicuik YMCA) receiving certificates on the night.
We also said cheerio to our Chair of the past 6 years Dona Milne who’s constitutional time limit was been reached and to welcome our new Chair Mike Massaro-Mallinson.
Can we also a word of thanks and praise to Canongate Youth for hosting us and in particular their newly refurbished Old School Café which provided a fantastic buffet created and ably served by young people from the project. If you are looking to drop in or book it as a venue for an event then you would not be disappointed. You can check out their menu here along with a downloadable booking form.
Post AGM check out our new training brochure which covers the next 9 months and our latest 8 page Fast Networks which is a great read even if we say that ourselves.
